First Day of Summer

I have a hard time with the idea that today is the first official day of summer since it has been over 100* several times already. That truly worries me as to what the rest of the summer holds for us. The girls and I decided to celebrate our first day of summer a bit differently.



We gathered up our pillows and blankets, cranked up the A/C and turned on Frosty the Snowman. We put on what little winter gear that we hadn't already packed away, made some hot cocoa (chocolate milk for the littles) and ate cookies all while pretending that it was a nice cold winter day. Maybe it's not the most traditional way to celebrate the beginning of summer but with 2 out of 3 of us sick it was all we could muster. I have to say that I think it might be our new tradition though. It was quite a welcome break from the sweltering heat.
