This was our first year to celebrate Michaelmas (as you can probably tell from our very sparse table display) but I am so glad we chose to add it.  We decided to keep our activities simple and the meaning for the celebration as well.  It can be difficult to know just how much explanation a new festival needs, especially with young children.  For us, this year at least, it was best to focus on bravery, courage, and always standing up for what is good and right.  We've been talking about being brave and facing our fears quite a bit here lately so for us it made sense. I'm already looking forward to next year when we can add a bit more depth and understand to the festival.
