I have this friend; in fact she’s one of my very best friends. She’s the friend that I know would drop anything in an instant if I needed her; but she’s also the friend that I’m afraid to let be alone with the hubby because I know she would tell him stories of our antics during my single days. Anyone else have a friend like that? The one that couldn’t come bail you out of jail because she’d be right there in the cell with you? Yeah, that’s my friend Cat.
She’s the one I can call any time of day for absolutely any reason. Bad day at work, fight with my family, car trouble, hilarious joke, great new song or needing to eat a food (sorry inside joke). She’s the first call I make. I called her when I was working at Dillards and an entire wall of handbags crashed down on me and I’m literally buried alive by purses. She laughed so hard she was nearly crying and didn’t even ask how it happened because she knows those things just happen to me. She knows this because those sorts of things happen to her as well.
I think everyone needs a friend like that. The reason I'm telling you this story is because she's coming to visit for the weekend! She's on her way up from Texas right now and I'm super excited. I haven't seen her since I moved from Texas so its been a while. She's never even seen the Sweet Pea in person. So you'll have to excuse me if I'm absent this weekend. I'll be sure to post on Monday, if I survive!
My friend like that is named kathryna nd she is called Kat too so that is cool. She is the godmother to my son but doesn't see us often as she was in the Air Force for 6 years and now she is in the National Guard but is about to join the Air Force again. I know she loves the military life. I am so proud of her and she is proud of me even though we went in opposite directions. We each live vicariously through the other and I think that is great. When we do see each other it is like we pick up right where we left off but we have been best friends since we were 2.
